Parenco was originally part of the Norske Skog group until it was bought out as an independent company in 2012. The mill now manufactures over 500,000 tonnes of paperboard and specialist publication paper from its two machines, with high levels of recycled fibre from the on-site plant.
Perceptive Engineering has installed Advanced Process Control on the high-grade paper machine, to improve wet end stability and reduce production costs. A second APC system was installed on the de-ink plant, to optimise yield, brightness and throughput.
In 2018, the mill became part of the Smurfit Kappa group.
